The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, establishing relationships, and expanding our client base. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader with a strong track record in business development, sales strategy, and market expansion. This person will thrive on managing, strategizing and growing a business development, customer success and marketing team. This role combines high-level strategy with hands-on sales leadership, making it ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong network and deep expertise in business growth.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve growth targets and company awareness.
  • Lead and manage the business development team, setting clear goals, providing mentorship, and fostering a results-driven culture.
  • Build and foster strategic relationships with key clients, partners, and vendors.
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities, events and emerging trends.
  • Collaborate with all departments and senior leadership to ensure alignment with business development objectives.
  • Drive the sales process, from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing deals.
  • Develop and present customized solutions to potential clients, addressing their unique needs and goals.
  • Oversee and manage a sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-up and effective conversion strategies.
  • Monitor performance against goals, adjusting strategies to optimize revenue generation and business growth.
  • Create and approve sales proposals for potential customers.
  • Collaborate with appropriate departments to review and approve product and service pricing.
  • Marketing & Customer Success:
    • Oversee and help guide Green City Growers' multi-channel marketing strategy to achieve brand awareness and drive sales.
    • Ensure brand consistency and standards are being met.
    • Oversee Customer Success responsibilities to improve the customer journey, provide a great customer experience and maintain a high customer retention rate.
    • Data Management & Analysis:
      • Oversee CRM software (Zoho) to develop necessary workflows, create clear use standards and ensure correct data is being captured.
      • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on business development performance.
      • Analyze market data to inform decision-making and continuously improve sales tactics.Desired Skills:
        • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
        • Detail-oriented and highly organized, business acumen
        • Experience with B2B sales, partnership development, and negotiation at the senior level.
        • Proven track record of successfully identifying and securing new business opportunities
        • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
        • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment
        • Strong network in relevant industries or markets is preferred.
        • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with senior leadership.
        • Marketing experience preferred
        • Interest in urban agriculture, organic farming, sustainability, urban planning

MBA is a plus. Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.Communication Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the ability to communicate effectively in all circumstances, including over the phone, email and in person. Must have strong written, verbal interpersonal and cross-cultural skills to communicate and work with employees, team members, management, and other external stakeholders. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of MS Office Suite Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Suite, Canva, and CRM database software and be proficient in Internet software.Other Skills and Abilities: Promote a positive Company image and must understand overall department and company priorities. Must be a team player with a can-do attitude and be goal-driven and work well with minimal supervision, take initiative, be a self-starter, have a sense of urgency and be process-driven.
